Opportunities to Serve

One of the character traits that has marked us as a church has been the incredible volunteer spirit of the many people who call New Life Foursquare home. Volunteering is a brilliant way to build relationships while practically helping to build the church and make our Sunday service an enjoyable experience for all who attend. Take a peak at the list of service opportunities below, and prayerfully consider how YOU can get involved!

Kids Life Volunteers
There are several opportunities to serve on our Kids Life team. Check out the descriptions below to see where you might fit in.
To get involved, contact kimdepoppe@comcast.net

Large Group Teacher-
Engage kids hearts through an interactive Bible Story and prayer time in a large group setting. Use props, demonstrations, and real life examples that insert the kids into the story to help them understand and retain the principles of the Bible Story. Volunteers need to be 9th grade or older and read the curriculum ahead of time to prepare. Volunteers are also expected to prepare their own props or visual aids for the lesson.

Small Group Leader-
Create a safe place to connect and learn how the Bible story applies to real life experiences through interactive activities and discussion. Establish relationships with both the children and their parents. Children are Preschool to 5th grade. Volunteers are expected to read the curriculum ahead of time and be prepared to lead the children through the activities in the curriculum. Supplies for all activities are provided each week. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check.

Small Group Assistant-
Helps the Small Group Leader with activities, crafts, and games. Connects with the children. Volunteers need to be 9th grade or older.

Song Leader-
Engage kid’s hearts through a dynamic worship experience. Prepare interactive motions for high energy songs that help kids worship. Lead three songs each week. Volunteers need to be 9th grade or older.

Set Up/Tear Down Team
Our set up/tear down teams play a crucial role in our Sunday services. Volunteers serve 1-2 times a month, and arrive at church by 7am to start setting up the chairs and tables for Sunday service. After service, our volunteer teams stay to help put the tables and chairs back into storage until the following week.

The New Life Hospitality Team provides us with all the goodies we consume on Sunday mornings; coffee, tea, donuts, fruit and pastries. Our volunteers serve once a month, and arrive at church by 8am to begin preparing the refreshments and setting up the tables. Volunteers are also encouraged to use their expertise in organizing church potlucks and other events where food is to be provided. Many hands make for light work!

Our New Life Nursery is completely fueled by volunteers. We could not exist without their leadership and expertise. Volunteers serve approx once every 6-8 weeks, and are responsible for providing a caring, nurturing and fun environment for our children, ages birth-preschool. Other responsibilities include establishing relationships with the children and their families, providing security during check-in and check-out, maintaining a sanitary and safe environment for our kiddos, and having a loving and gentle personality. We would love to talk with you about joining our team.
If you are interested and would like more information about volunteering in the nursery, contact cassie@nlfe.org

Middle School Class
Our New Life Middle School Group currently meets bi-weekly on Sunday mornings, during service. Middle school students come together for a time of small group interaction and relevant teaching. The goal of our small group leaders is to build trusted relationships, and help guide and shape the spiritual life of our students. This is accomplished through consistent leadership and accountability.
If you would like to learn more about how you can get involved, contact Mikaela Jonas at Mikaela@nlfe.org

Our greeters help set the tone by offering the first welcome on Sunday morning, which contributes immensely to the atmosphere of the service. Our Greeters have the privilege of conveying hospitality and friendliness to our local church family and guests. Our goal is to exceed expectations of hospitality and to ensure a positive experience for everyone who enters our doors. Volunteers arrive at church by 9:30am, greet guests at one of the two entrances, hand out our weekly bulletin and SMILE.  If you enjoy meeting new people, we’d love for you to be the first to greet the local church family as they arrive on Sunday morning!
To volunteer your smiling face, contact cassie@nlfe.org

Media & Sound Team
To volunteer your services in either of these departments, please contact karee@nlfe.org

Media Team –
The Media Team prepares and operates the equipment necessary to display live video and any graphics that are needed to enhance the morning service (ie: worship lyrics, Bible verses, etc.). They focus on enhancing and delivering the worship and the message by creating visual appeal, and supporting communications. Volunteers serve 1-2 monthly, arrive at church by 9am to set up equipment and to review and establish the graphics to be used that morning. Familiarity working with computers is beneficial but not required. A brief period of training will be provided.

Sound Team-
The Sound Team is responsible for the set-up, monitoring, and adjustment of all auditorium audio equipment. Their role is to support the band, speaker, and all on-stage personnel as they lead or communicate to the audience on Sunday. They focus on facilitating worship and communication, and removing distractions during our Sunday morning service. Volunteers serve 1-2 monthly, arrive at church by 7:30am to set up equipment and provide an atmosphere for the worship team to practice, and stay afterwards to help break down the sound equipment. Prior experience is beneficial but not required. A lengthy amount of training on Sunday mornings will be required.
